Wings Financial Credit Union review

Wings Financial Credit Union was founded in 1938. It provides financial services to employees of the airline industry. Wings ranks within the top 50 credit unions by asset size out of more than 8,000 credit unions in the United States in 2010. Branches are located in California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Tennessee and Washington. Wings offers checking accounts, savings accounts, loans, credit products, investment services and financial planning.

Personal accounts

Wings Financial Credit Union offers a variety of personal savings and checking account choices. The credit union provides a high interest rate savings account called Share Savings. This basic savings account offers lifetime membership and earns a competitive yield. Funds in this account earn interest without being tied to a specific term. Coverdell Education Savings Accounts (CESA), IRA Savings accounts, IRA Certificates, Share Certificates and a money market account are also available.

Loans and credit services

Credit Union services include credit cards, mortgage and home equity loans, and personal, student and vehicle loans. One GreatRate loan offers a competitively low rate to finance new, used or refinanced vehicles.

Investment services and financial planning

Wings Financial Advisors, LLC, provides a number of services not traditionally offered by credit unions including financial planning, investment services, online brokerage services through MEMBERS Financial Network, insurance products and services, and no-cost, no-obligation workshops to further client financial education.

NCUA insurance

Deposits at Wings Financial Credit Union are insured up to at least $250,000 per depositor through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which is the credit unions' equivalent of the FDIC.
