Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union Review
Saginaw Medical FCU has served workers in health care fields with a full range of financial services since 1971.
As of 2010, Saginaw Medical FCU had earned Bauer Financial's highest rating, the five-star superior rating, for ten consecutive years. It currently operates two branch locations in Saginaw, Michigan. One distinctive feature of this credit union is the scholarship offered to any high school senior or full time college student who is a member of the credit union.
Membership requirements
Eligible workers include doctors, nurses, lab technicians, veterinarians, physical therapists, social workers, pharmacists, administrators, receptionists and more, plus their immediate family members. A minimum deposit of $5.00 is required to open a credit union share savings account.
Changing careers? Not to worry. Existing account holders may keep a membership active even after retirement or otherwise leaving the medical profession as long as the minimum balance is maintained.

Savings account options at Saginaw Medical FCU include a basic share savings account, a Second Savings account, an IRA, and CD maturities from 7 to 36 months.
Checking accounts include Rewards Plus checking and MONEYPlus, a money market account.

Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union has been insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) since 1971. NCUA coverage for eligible deposits was permanently increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor in July 2010. Joint accounts are NCUA-insured up to at least $250,000 per account holder.
