Dollar Bank Federal Savings Bank serves Pennsylvania and Ohio as a leader in new technology banking including online banking, text message banking and mobile web banking.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the bank first opened its doors in 1855 under the name Pittsburgh Dollar Savings Institution. As of 2010 the bank has 60 branch offices and loan centers in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Savings and checking account options
Dollar Bank offers a full range of banking products for personal and business customers. Personal banking customers can open a CD, a premium money market account, a traditional savings account, or a passbook savings account (a special account designed to prevent impulse spending). Checking account customers have multiple options including a money market checking account, an e-checking account and a value rewards checking account.
Banking services
Dollar Bank has offered online banking since 1997, one of the first banks to do so. According to the bank's website, in 2007 it was the first bank to offer text message services. The following year it began offering mobile online banking.
In addition to being a leader in new technology banking services, Dollar Bank offers private banking for high net worth customers that want to work one-on-one with a banker on wealth management. Also available are credit cards, personal and business loans, several types of insurance and specialty services for corporate banking clients.
