Country Bank Review

Since 1850, Country Bank has been serving customers in the community surrounding their headquarters in Ware, Massachusetts. The bank and its employees give both money and volunteer hours to local causes.

Country Bank offers scholarships and support for community organizations and even publishes a bi-monthly "Our Community" magazine that goes to local residents. The bank has earned a five-star rating from Bauer Financial.

While a bank with more than 150 years in business and a community-oriented focus might sound like it could be old-fashioned, this bank has fully embraced Internet banking. In fact, customers with personal finance management software may be able to use CBDirect, a system that allows these customers to do online banking transactions directly from their own software.

Financial services

Country Bank has e-statements and complete online banking and bill-paying services. Customers can apply for loans online, including a mortgage loan, auto loan, personal loan and home equity loan. They can also open personal and business banking accounts online, including a checking account to meet any banking needs.

Customers can handle financial transactions online, in person at one of the many Country Bank branches in central Massachusetts, or over the phone with their 24-hour telephone banking system.

Banking products

In addition to opening a checking account at Country Bank, customers can open a money market account or a savings account or invest in a certificate of deposit (CD). Customers saving for retirement can open an IRA.

All deposit accounts, regardless of whether they are opened in person or online, are fully FDIC-insured to the maximum limit of $250,000 per depositor.
