Citizens Bank of Rogersville Review

Citizens Bank of Rogersville has significantly higher assets than one might expect from a financial institution with only two branches in tiny communities. So perhaps it's offering more than just the usual small town banking services.

At the time of the 2000 census, the city of Rogersville, Missouri, had a population of just 1,508. So the fact that Citizens Bank of Rogersville had total assets of $59.2 million by the end of 2008 is impressive. Of course, the bank has a branch in nearby Highland Springs (an even smaller community), but it's difficult to see how that could account for such a high assets figure.

One possible explanation is that the bank is attracting high net worth individuals from the surrounding Springfield area. And, judging from the bank's website, that seems a reasonable bet. Because instead of bragging about its checking accounts, savings accounts, CD rates, and so on, the website first talks about the bank's "comprehensive approach to wealth management" and how it can "devise solutions that work not only on their own, but in relation to your other financial strategies."

A bank that accounts for taste

Of course, Citizens Bank of Rogersville does offer checking and savings accounts, along with a range of CD terms, and a money market account. Indeed, as of 2010 it had 11 account different types to suit a wide range of banking needs. Accounts are supported by telephone and online banking services, and eligible deposits are insured by the FDIC.

Online reputation

People often choose local banks for the personal service that most provide. And it seems that Citizens Bank of Rogersville customers are rarely disappointed, because as of 2010, an online trawl of complaints turned up nothing. In fact, the only comment from an existing customer was effusive in its praise.

The Better Business Bureau gave the bank an A rating the same year, and said that no complaints had been received about it for at least the previous 36 months.
